Key project completed at BAT Vapor was End-of-Life Safety Improvements which involved testing and iterative change. I acquired large data sets and advised on software modification in an iterative process, before completing a medical study on the difference in toxic chemicals produced by the original and improved software. This project led to my involvement on a team investigating dry-out patents owned by competitors, possible infringements and avoidance.
Carried out a life cycle assessment of the JUUL vaping device and make an informed assessment of the environmental impact of this product. The objective of the project was to ascertain the differences in environmental impact of the emerging vaping market and traditional cigarette market. I concluded that the environmental impact between these markets was not as diverse as might have been expected and that still further legislation is required on the design criteria and waste management of vaping devices to improve sustainability of the market beyond the one it is seeking to replace.
Academic project on behalf of C-ALPS simulating a variety of improvements to Battery Thermal Management Systems with the objective of reducing thermal gradients and degradation in multi cell lithium ion battery modules. This work was presented to and well received by the C-ALPS management team.
